Today (Monday): Western Scotland, Northern Ireland and south-west England will have sunny spells and a few showers. Northern England will be cloudy at first but will brighten up in the afternoon with sunny intervals and the odd wintry shower along eastern coasts. Wales will be fairly cloudy with wintry showers. Elsewhere, it will be cloudy with spells of mostly light rain, sleet and snow, especially in SE quarter of England. Cold and breezy.
Tonight (Monday night): Tonight most parts look set to become mainly dry with some clear breaks, but also plenty of cloud at times, particularly across southern and eastern England and East Anglia. A few sleet or snow showers are possible, mainly across eastern Scotland, north-east England and perhaps north Wales. Breezy around southern and eastern coasts. A widespread frost will develop as temperatures fall close to or below freezing.
